First Week

Last week in our math classes we went through classroom procedures and school rules and policies. On Thursday we took time in class to ensure each student could log on to their "Digits" account, which is where they can review lessons that were taught and most importantly we're they'll be submitting all of their homework assignments.

In case students forgot to write down their user names and passwords, please follow the following instructions:

USER NAME: _ _ _ _ _ _@SPS (The student's 6 digit ID number/lunch number, followed by @SPS) PASSWORD: Students first and last initials (CAPITALIZED) followed by the 4 digits of their birthday (MM/DD)
       example: AB0615
There is a link to the Digits website on my website and I've also included it below: www.mathdashboard.com/digits

On Friday, we completed our Readiness Lesson to introduce our first topic: RATIONAL & IRRATIONAL NUMBERS. Today, we will be starting our first section of the first topic and students will have homework to complete online by Tuesday.

It has been so nice getting to know all of you this week, and I'm even more confident that we are going to have a wonderful year in room 147! Parents, don't hesitate to email me or call me with questions or concerns!

Last week in our algebra classes we went through classroom procedures and school rules and policies. On Thursday we got to look at our BRAND NEW TEXTBOOKS!  The students worked with their "shoulder partners" to look through the book and pick some vocabulary words that caught their attention or that may be new to them.  Their task was to develop a visual that would help them remember what that vocabulary word meant and then preset their ideas to the class on Friday.  From these projects alone, I can already tell it is going to be such a fun year in algebra.
